Sports concussion

A sports concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury caused by a blow or jolt to the head or body that leads to sudden movement of the brain inside the skull. It commonly occurs in contact sports such as football, cricket, hockey, or during falls and collisions. Although called “mild,” a concussion can significantly affect brain function, leading to symptoms that impact memory, balance, coordination, and overall well-being. Immediate recognition and proper management are essential to prevent complications and ensure safe recovery, especially in athletes who may be at risk of repeated injuries.
