Orthotic management

Orthotic management in rheumatological disorders involves the use of supportive devices such as splints, braces, and customized footwear to reduce pain, improve joint alignment, and enhance functional ability. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, joints may become unstable, deformed, or inflamed, making movement difficult and painful. Orthoses help by providing stability, limiting excessive or harmful movements, and distributing pressure more evenly across joints. They also play a key role in preventing further deformities and protecting affected joints during daily activities. When combined with physiotherapy and medical treatment, orthotic management significantly improves comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life for individuals with rheumatic conditions.
